The Woburn Fire Department in Massachusetts, with facility design by Mitchell Associates Architects, relies on GearGrid storage systems to dry, store, and organize firefighter PPE between calls.

The installation combines Standard Wall Mount Lockers along the perimeter walls with a centrally located Tubular Frame Wall system, creating dedicated turnout storage throughout the locker room while maintaining an organized and efficient layout. GearGrid’s open-grid locker design promotes continuous airflow, accelerating the drying process for turnout gear and reducing odor buildup between uses.  

Each locker opening is customized with Top-Side Storage Shelves, SecureBoxes, GearHangers, and HeavyHangers, providing dedicated space for turnout gear, personal items, and other equipment. Together, these features help firefighters keep essential gear organized, accessible, and ready for the next call.
